Vision Boards in Motion

Vision boards in motion can make it easier to attract the things you want. Pictures with words along with some upbeat music can transport you into the place of "already receiving". It helps you feel as if you already have the thing you want and we all know that feeling as if we already have it is key. Motivational speaker, Dr. Denis Waitley said "if you've been there in the mind, you'll go there in the body. Remember, spend 7 to 10 minutes each day visualizing your perfect life.

Need Versus Want

Recently someone asked a question about need versus want. He explained that when he has a want for something, he is not highly motivated in receiving it and therefore cannot manifest it.

Just because you don't need something, doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to have it. If you focus on your want with passion, that is enough to have it manifest. In Rhonda's book, The Secret, she told of a man who wanted to attract a feather, just to see if this L.O.A. stuff really works. He imagined the markings on his distinct feather and stumbled upon it in New York City of all places!

Then there was a lady who wanted to test the waters by imagining a white-collar lily. She didn't need this flower any more than the man needed the feather. Yet she thought of her imagined flower throughout the day. A week or two later, she went to her friend's house for dinner. To her amazement, there was a bouquet of white-collar lilies on the table! As the woman was leaving, the hostess' daughter pulled a flower from the bouquet and handed it to her.

I’ve seen and heard of many things people attracted that they didn’t necessarily need. Many people have attracted dream cars, when they already had a car. Joe Vitale is a collector of cars! I attracted clothing, bags and shoes in my life as I am a clothes horse and such items bring me joy. Some of the items were free, others came at a deep discount. Did I really need a Marco Buggiani handbag? Nope, I just wanted a bag that was out of my budget.

Some people feel guilty for intending to attract a want as opposed to a need. They’ll only ask for money when their lights are turned off. Furthermore they’ll only ask for the very amount that will satisfy the electric company. What about next month … and the month after that? Wouldn’t you want to live in abundance, so you’ll never have to worry about a light bill?

To Change Your Body, You Must Love The Body You're In

I realized my focus was on "losing weight". Going to the gym was not fun anymore. It was a chore! I went to the gym in the mornings before work, so I would be sure to get my workout in. Now, at 5:30 am, the gym is full of patrons who are serious about weight loss and building a better body. I looked around the gym and noticed already buff men and women working hard toward their goals. I watched people dropping body weight as the months went by. I was wondering why all these people were in the gym at this hour "when they really didn't need to be there". The answer to that question is, they were maintaining what they already have! A beautiful body! I decided to picture myself as thin person who's goal is to add a little more muscle. I became more casual about my workouts. If I didn't have time to get on the fly machine, no problem! I just grabbed a couple of free weights, lie on the bench and lifted the weight in a similar motion. I went from being "grim" to having fun.

I began to eat healthier and enjoy what I was eating. I was feeling proud of my choices and felt better physically. I had more energy, which helped boost my confidence. I allowed myself treats every now and then, so I wouldn't gorge on forbidden foods at a later time.

I also had to address other issues. I needed to feel good about me. If I'm feeling frumpy, it is very difficult to attract the perfect body. Again, my imagination was called into play. I pictured myself as already having arrived. I walked with a spring in my step. I spoke more with more confidence. I stopped trying on five different outfits each morning, deciding I looked "fat" in each one.

Once that happened, I began to lose weight. I lost 35 pounds so far! I still want to lose another 25 pounds, but I'm keeping the same approach.

My Very Own "Skirt Story"

I wrote this story in June of 2011, on a forum and thought I would share it here. This is my very own "skirt story". Enjoy!

I had just finished reading the book The Power by Rhonda Byrne. In the book, Rhonda explains how she fell in love with a woman's skirt while on vacation in Paris. A while later, she was home in Australia and on her way to work. She was caught in traffic and had nothing to do, but sit and wait. She looked out her window and saw the very skirt, she admired in Paris in a shop window near her office. Later that day, she went back to the store to buy the skirt. There was only one skirt in that style and of course, it was in her size! The amazing thing about her story is, the shop owner did not order that particular skirt and it was accidentally included in their order!

Now, my story. I was shopping for a trendy handbag that would be appropriate to take on job interviews. I tend to buy larger bags with zippers, studs or other trims. I did not want to spend a lot of money, so I went to large store that carries designer brands for less.

I saw a really nice bag that would have been perfect, except it was orange. They also had the same bag in mustard. I wanted to see if they carried it in black or brown. I looked throughout the department, but did not see this particular bag in black or brown. I saw another bag that was made by the same company, but it was a little too funky. Even too funky for me, but it had the same basic shape as the one I'd fallen in love with. So, I purchased the bag.

I took it home and noticed they hadn't taken the ink tag off. At first I was like, "oh man! They didn't take off the ink tag!" Then I thought about bringing the bag back to the store near my home (I bought the bag in their sister store in another town near my friend's house). On the way to the store near me, I had an epiphany. Maybe this is meant to be. I'll bet they'll have the bag I wanted in black. The chances of this item being in stock was slim, because black and brown are the most popular colors. I went to the store and searched around for awhile and there it was. The bag I really wanted in black! I took it to the register and made the exchange.

Since that time, I've been able to attract many nice things into my life. I've found books that were out of print. I've gone to sales and bought the last item in my size. I have been given many gorgeous items of clothes, books and CD's. Whenever I go shopping, I expect to be amazed!

Getting Clear On What You Want

When it comes to manifesting your desires, you need to send out a clear signal of the things you want. This helps to put you on the same frequency as your desires. It’s not enough to say, “I want a new house” or “I want to make more money”. You need to have an idea of what kind of house you are wanting and what you would like your salary to be.

This reminds me of the story John Assaraf told as published in the book, The Secret. He had made several vision boards and placed them in his office, where he would see them everyday. He looked at his boards constantly and would visualize himself having each of these things. He deeply got into the feelings of having these things and felt as if he had them already.

He then packed his vision boards as he was getting ready to move. He made three moves and after five years, he opened the box in which they were contained. After a few moments, he realized he was living in the very house that was on his vision board! My guess is he wouldn’t have attracted that house without getting clear on what he wanted and he may not have gotten clear on what he wanted without a vision board.

I made a board that was very specific, complete with floor plans and an idea of how I want each room too look. Of course, it’s difficult to get various views of a room, but my photos provide enough information to “fill in the blanks”. This helps me “walk through the house” in a fluid manner, while imagining going about my routine in that lovely setting.

When your mind can take you somewhere, you will get there in the body.
Imagine taking a bath in that spacious sunken tub. See yourself preparing your homemade lasagna on the beautiful granite counter top and baking it in the stainless steel oven. Envision yourself and your loved one sitting in a cozy home theater watching your favorite movie and eating popcorn!

There's a fabulous new life waiting for you to claim as your own! You are the designer of your own life, but you must get there in the mind first. Step in and enjoy.

I Manifested Not One AC Unit, But TWO

I live in a fairly large apartment. It is in an old building, which adds to the charm of the place. The idea of trading my ample space, for something new (and smaller) doesn’t seem too appealing right now. The main drawback of living in an older building is there's no central air, but three units for the main rooms of the flat.

Last summer, I wanted to use one of these units (for the first time of the season) and it sounded like a beat up old Pinto with no muffler, ready for that grand scrap pile in the sky. It pumped out a lot of lukewarm air. This unit was in my second bedroom – my home office with my computer that needs a cool room to function properly.

Now, I could have run out to Home Depot and buy a new unit, but time would not allow me that day. In fact the entire weekend was booked. I decided I would wait until the following weekend to purchase a unit. My friend who knows a lot about electronics, promised to come with me. I put the AC unit out of my mind and went about my business.

The next day, I saw our building superintendent. As usual, I said hello and stopped to chat. He told me he had been getting an apartment ready to show. The people who lived in that apartment abandoned two air condition units and they were sitting in the apartment. He told me I could have one of them if I needed. I looked at the units and they looked pretty new. They were identical, so I simply chose one of them. The friend, who was going to shop with me came by and installed my new unit.

Several months later, this same friend was moving into a house that had central air. He offered to give me his unit. Not only that, he installed that unit for me as well. Life is good!

What is a vision board?

Lately, there has been much talk on vision boards. For years many successful individuals and companies have been using roadmaps to determine and monitor their goals. Goals reached are often checked off or deleted from the board or spreadsheet and a new goal is put in its place.

A vision board can help you view at a glance the milestones you want to reach in life. They help you keep your eye on the prize and motivate you toward your dreams. My vision board encourages me to work out everyday and eat healthy. I am also starting a fashion line, so my vision board reminds me to do something everyday to work toward that goal.

For those of us who subscribe to the Law of Attraction, a vision board can be a useful tool in manifesting our desires. If you want to attract a pricey new car, ordinarily out of your budget, you could place a photo of such a car on your vision board. A car can come in many ways. Many people win a new car or prize money to enable to them to buy the car. I know a guy who bought his car for a great price from a wealthy owner.

With visual tools, you can be drawn into the lifestyle you want. If you want something, you must visualize yourself as having it already. If it’s a new home, place photos of home interiors and exteriors on your vision board. Everyday, take yourself through this house. Imagine that kitchen is yours. See yourself touching the handle of that shiny new stainless steel refrigerator. See yourself cooking on that 45” range with superior features. The next time you’re pressed for space, while whipping up dinner, picture yourself preparing your food on a spacious island with a granite countertop.

The more you visualize, the more you feel it is yours and quicker your desires come to you. When you put yourself into the feeling of having it, the Law of Attraction will mirror those images and it will be delivered to you!

Make a vision board for yourself and place it where you can see it everyday. You can cut items from a magazine or print them out on the computer. Cut these things out and place them on a corkboard or a magnet board. You can place photos of your wants on your refrigerator. You can turn your vision board into a screensaver on your computer. There are many ways to use this tool in helping your manifest the things you want. There are many ways to use the Law of Attraction, but I find this to be most effective in achieving your goals.

The Attitude of Gratitude

If we want to manifest something, we must be grateful for the things we have. If we are grateful, then we will attract more things to be grateful for. If you want a new car, be grateful for the one you have. If you don’t have a car, be grateful for busses and taxis.

In her book The Secret, Rhonda Byrne pointed out that Albert Einstein said thank you one hundred times a day. He thanked his colleagues and his predecessors for the knowledge and influence imparted to him. Everyday, life’s mysteries were unfolded before him. Rhonda concluded this man surely knew the secret.

We tend to focus on what we don’t want or that our needs aren’t met. Humans like to complain, to “vent”. Have you ever noticed most people would say, “I hope all the parking spaces at the festival aren’t taken” rather than, “I want to find a parking space in a great location, so we can get to the festival easily”? When we focus on what we don’t want, we end up getting just that – what we don’t want. We are putting all our energy into the negative outcome and sending a message echoing this unfavorable condition.

Try changing I don’t want to be late to I want to get there on time.
I hope the concert isn’t sold out to I want concert tickets and I want good seats.
I don’t want any bad news from the doctor to I want a clean bill of health.
I hope she doesn’t start complaining again to I want our visit to pleasant.
I hope the items at the sales aren’t “picked over” to I want to find plenty of items in my size.

We attract what we think about. When we are grateful, we tend to be full of joy and we raise our vibration to the fullest. This helps us align ourselves so we may attract the things we want. You can and should give thanks for the things you want now, before it arrives. If you want or need a new car, give thanks for that new car and it will come to you quicker.

Welcome!

Welcome to The Great Intender Blog!

I picked up my first book on the Law of Attraction in 2008. It was the The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I always felt there was "something to" the idea behind positive thinking, but never thought much of it. After reading the book, a whole new world opened up to me.  I began to make plans to obtain the things I really wanted - not the things I should want.

Prior to reading The Secret and other books on the Law of Attraction, I had stopped wanting some of these things, figuring they just weren't possible to achieve. Like most people, I worked everyday and partied on weekends, while living pay check to pay check. This was the status quo and I accepted it as "normal", but something inside of me wanted more. I began to research and study these principles and apply them to my own life.

Ever since that time, I've been learning and implementing the tools outlined in these books. This is such an amazing discovery, that I wanted to share it with as many people as I can. I encourage you to comment and ask questions. If you'd like to share, feel free. I will be answering posts in the evenings EST.
Cheers!
